This policy explains what information Genius of And, LLC (“GeniusOfAnd”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use our website at geniusofand.com and our GeniusOfAnd service, including our text messages, and how we use and protect it.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details, such as your name, email address and mobile phone number.
- Account and household information you share so we can help you, such as the names of household members, meal and grocery preferences, and your preferred grocery day.
- Messages you send us by text message or email.
Information collected when you text us
- Your mobile phone number, the content of the messages you send and we send, the date and time of each message, and whether it was delivered.
Information collected when you visit our website
- Our hosting provider records standard technical information about each request, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. Our website does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
- Some pages load fonts and code libraries from third-party content delivery networks (such as Google Fonts), which receive your IP address when your browser requests those files.
How we use information
- To provide the GeniusOfAnd service, including planning meals, coordinating grocery orders for pickup or delivery, and replying to your messages.
- To send the text messages you have signed up for, and to honor STOP and HELP requests.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve our service.
- To comply with law and to protect our rights and the safety of our users.
Conversations with your “Genius Team”, including the messages you send us, are handled by automated systems and by GeniusOfAnd team members.
Text messages and your phone number
We use your mobile phone number to send you the account and service text messages you signed up for. We send them only after you opt in by texting JOIN to our number (see Text messages), and you can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile phone number or your text-message opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that process it on our behalf: Twilio, which sends and receives our text messages, and Google (Google Cloud and Firebase), which hosts our website and stores account information, messages and system logs.
- With grocery retailers and pickup or delivery services, only as needed to place and fulfill a grocery order, for pickup or delivery, that you ask us to place.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of GeniusOfAnd, our users or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or sale of assets, subject to this policy.
The above excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
How long we keep information
- Account and conversation information is kept while your account is active. We delete or de-identify it within 90 days after you close your account or ask us to delete it, unless the law or the resolution of a dispute requires us to keep it longer.
- Text-message opt-in and opt-out records are kept while you are subscribed and for 4 years after you opt out, as evidence of your consent.
- System logs, which can include phone numbers and message content, are kept for 30 days. Logs from our earlier systems, created between 2017 and 2026, are kept in an archive with restricted access, for security and troubleshooting.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving texts.
- Email info@geniusofand.com to ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
GeniusOfAnd is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date and, if the changes are significant, let you know by other means as well.
